blood is thicker than lots of stuff, chris tullbane, urban fantasy, book review, great readBLOOD IS THICKER THAN LOTS OF STUFF (The Many Travails of John Smith, Book 2) by Chris Tullbane – URBAN FANTASY

NUTSHELL: Another well written tale in this series that moves along quickly… Comes with bonus werewolves!

EXCELLENT READ BECAUSE: Another rock solid read from Chris Tullbane in his Many Travails of John Smith series. In this second outing there’s more to love about the main character and little not too. The first book was focused mostly on vampires (and a delightfully insane demigod), this time it’s werewolves (vampires and demigod still included)! As in the first book the author has a unique spin to make his weres standout from the pack. The underlying investigation moves along at pace and things unfold in a way that keeps you reading and guessing. There’s still plenty of humour in the tale with an all around likeable lead.

I recommend BLOOD IS THICKER THAN LOTS OF STUFF, the second book in the Many Travails of John Smith series, as an excellent read for urban fantasy fans. Jump right in with INVESTIGATION, MEDIATION, VINDICATION and you’ll find a series you want to keep reading. (I reviewed INVESTIGATION, MEDIATION, VINDICATION here.)

Available on Amazon. This title is currently in KindleUnlimited. (Disclaimer: I didn’t get this book via the author, I picked it out myself.)

“Messy divorce? Check.
Emotional stability of the involved parties? Questionable.
Possibility of bloodshed? High.
Yep; it was definitely starting to sound like one of my cases.”

In addition to being San Diego’s supernatural mediator, John Smith is the city’s least successful private investigator. Those two careers collide when what was supposed to be a simple infidelity case draws the attention of the local werewolf pack. John soon finds himself pressed into service mediating a separation between the pack’s married leaders.

I don’t do stars but for sites that do (Amazon, GoodReads, etc.) I give five stars for all books that I enjoy reading. I do not write reviews for books that I didn’t. (Most likely I won’t finish reading them either.) Reviews are subjective and one reader’s three stars is another’s five, which is why I only do reviews for books I enjoyed. If I liked reading it, it’s worth five stars to me. Life’s too short to read bad books and write about them. I mostly review Indie Authors.
